This work was filmed underwater by Jun Nguyen-Hatushiba
filmed in 2001 off the coast of south east Vietnam.
the work portrays the struggle of 6 vietnamese fishermen pulling cyclos along the sea floor.
the purpose of the work is to signify the harsh, difficult conditions of everyday life for many Vietnamese people, the fisherman dragging the cyclos in the bottom of the ocean shows the burden and hard work of the past that made the modern life easier.

the Memorial Project Nha Trana does not employ actors, they use real fishermen to show the fact that physical struggles are real. the fishermen does not use any helping tools to help them breath. this makes them struggle more as they are moving slowly into the bottom f the ocean this really emphasize the challenge they are facing.
in daily life pulling a cyclos is already a very tough job plus the heaviness of walking on the sand and water makes it tons more heavier and the breathing challenge makes it worse.
Jun Nguyen-Hatushiba wanted people to realize that the problem in our life are not the end of the world, some people in the world face even tougher problem and still able to solve and succeed.

the idea of modernism has made Jun Nguyen-Hatsushiba realize that the world didn't become like today without effort. the use of real fishermen was to show how hard they work to help us with our daily life. we may not notice it but this video had inspired me to work as hard as others out there who's life are very hard and full with challenges.

i think the title suits the Nguyen's intention as the fishermen parading into an ocean shows the courage, the curios on the title was about the curiosity of the people of what its like to pull cyclos under the ocean. and the cowards was when the fishermen abandoned their cyclos to save their life and take a breath.
